Position: Staking Engineer – Electric Utility
Work Location: Roundup, MT
Pay range: $75,000 - $120,000

Fergus Electric Cooperative is seeking a full-time Staking Engineer to join our member-oriented team in Roundup, Montana. Our electric utility continues to see strong member growth throughout the Roundup area, and we are looking for the right individual to join our team. Position requires sound engineering judgement, technical knowledge, positive attitude and good communication skills to be able to constructively work with members, line crews and supervisors in providing safe and reliable electric utility service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (B.S.) degree in engineering is required.
- Experience in electrical utility system design, construction and maintenance is highly desirable.

Requirements:
- Ability to assist members with rights of way and advise them on matters pertaining to new electrical service.
- Engineering design of overhead and underground electric utility infrastructure.
- Strong computer, writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to plan project schedules with deadlines and ability to apply critical thinking.
- Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities require close/distance and color vision.
- This position is active and requires the ability to be able to walk, climb steep terrain, bend, stoop and kneel.
The successful applicant must possess a valid Montana driver’s license, always present a professional appearance and deliver exceptional service to the co-op’s members. Applicant must successfully pass a drug test and employment physical.
