Fergus Electric Cooperative supports and promotes a number of activities and programs for its members in its 12-county service area.
Six college scholarships are offered and the winner of an essay contest represents the cooperative in the Youth to Washington tour.
Part of the cooperative's safety program is to educate school-age children on the dangers associated with high voltage lines. With Fergus Electric's safety demonstration trailer, students are graphically shown what happens when contact with electricity occurs. Call the line superintendent at 406-538-3465 to schedule a safety demonstration.
Fergus Electric is very supportive of its youth and their activities. Academic contests, athletic events, a variety of clubs and organizations as well as youth rodeos, 4-H, FFA, and natural resources camps are recognized with monetary donations or in-kind assistance.
The board of directors also elects one couple from the service area to represent the cooperative in the Montana Electric Cooperatives' Association Today's Member Program.
Fairs and trade shows give Fergus Electric an opportunity to meet the membership and the general public in order to share the latest technology and explain the cooperative's business.
