Realizing that many members were not involved during the early years of their cooperative, the Today’s Member Program was created to educate participants about member-owned utilities. Each October, a couple from Fergus Electric Cooperative is selected by the Board of Trustees to attend the Montana Electric Cooperative’s Annual Meeting and participate in this educational program.
Through demonstrations, panel discussions and role playing, delegates learn about the cooperative way of doing business, as well as cooperative involvement in local, state and national government. Each year the Fergus Electric Board of Trustees selects one couple from its 12-county service area to represent the cooperative in the
program.
Members interested in the Today’s Members Program should call their board representative in August to express their desire to attend. Trustees are: Paul Descheemaeker, Lewistown-428-2417; Brad Arntzen, Hilger-462-5555; Cathy Kombol, Grass Range-428-2202; Terry Frost, Roundup-323-3415; Jason Swanz, Judith Gap-473-2462; Bob Evans, Geyser-735-4476.
